Alwyn Scott

 

Alwyn Scott is Professor of Non-Linear Mathematics and Physics at the University of Arizona and the Technical University of Denmark.   Dr. Scott's book "Stairway to the Mind" (Springer-Verlag 1995) is a conversant look at Consciousness from the view of a mathematician physicist who appreciates the intricate "assemblies of assemblies" that the physiology and experience of "mind" is made of.  There are inescapable notions of complexity and heirarchic integration that cannot be separate from the underlying foundaiton of atomic dynamics, and it is this coordination that Alwyn Scott speaks to clearly and understandably.
