"Chrysalines"

The experience of being "changlings"

Humanity is undergoing not just an evolution in speciation but a total reformation of its social structure.

So . . . imagine what a caterpiller "feels" as its whole body is morphed and reorganized. A process in which "will" and "desire" and "preplanning" can only play limited roles.  We are in much the same situation . . . but on our level, participation and involvement play a markedly important role.  Still, it is a wrenching process because it demands new relationships and new behaviors which we must accomodate to and become, even though we may not feel competent.   Yet we are.

The biology of life and of consciousness is meeting goals that it is already prepared for.  And thus, so are we, even though we may not have experienced those future abilities yet . . . like a cater-fly . . . mid way between being a caterpiller and not yet a butterfly . . . which has never "flown" in its life.    Still, morphing toward the day when "conceptual flight" will be the process we do most . . . that our progeny will do most . . . the next form of ascendant sentients will do most.  Be that in cosmic exploration, be that in societies conversing with societies, be that in personal spiritual awakenings.

There is more to "being" than hypercompetent mentality.  Changes and advancements in skills impact all the systems of our composition.   And we must respect all our social body parts which only "together" enable and enact the future-world.  It is a transient discomfort for everyone living and everyone yet born, but a glorious and amazing one.  We are all part of this "changing".   We are chrysalines, no less than metamorphing individual insecta, or evoluting species.  In this instance we are experiencing the morphing of social structures, and with it, our participation and personal lives.

We are experiencing from the "inside" what might really best be understood from an outside and larger point of view. . . the stretches, the connections that bind human to human.  Comfortable behavior patterns are being challenged and stressed, asked to accomplish new things.     But here, in the misty darkness of the midst-of-change, we should know that whatever we experience during this transition, the larger picture is what we are part of, and that each one of us contributes absolutely fully and completely to the creation of the new life form(s) to come.   Each person, each culture, each society, each trans-national must rise to the occassion. Whether cater-fly or teen or organization.    We are all in transition.    Learning even as we are Becoming. We are Chrysalines.

Success will rely on our resilience as well as any inate competence.   The "inate competence" is our primal value system . . . where we can focus on the welfare of the many bodies we are part of  . . . personal body, family body, community body, workplace body, sports/arts/learning/leisure/creativity bodies, governance bodies, spiritual body, gaian body, solarial body.  The "resiliance" is our comfort level while any of these bodies undergo changes and re-organization.  Adaptions, blendings, finding new option spaces  -- limiting old ones, exploring new ones.  To glory in the successes of competitors (!) and expect such support in return . . . because survival and advancement can only occur when all body parts participate with strength and vitality.   Competition should be perceived not in the old sense of "power struggles" and "dominance", but in the better sense of  "excercise" . . . honing and improving skills that can be applied to the welfare of all the bodies we are involved in.

This is a re-newed vision of an ancient theme:  altruism.  Action for the sheer benefit and advancement of ideals.  With the bonus result that we and all our posterity are the 'winners'.   Honor and respect among individuals and societies and groups.  Honor and respect for all ancestral contributions to our being here today, whether they were large or small or lost to the memory of history (but their accomplishments were not).  Honor and respect for generations yet to come and the worlds they will see.

We are all in transition.  Experiencing and relaying the ability to change.  Learning as we are Becoming.

We all are Chrysalines.
