"The Stimulating Interaction of Theory and Experiment"

Experimental results on new phenomena, and increasing microscopically detailed results on older ones, continue to provide a stimulating source for theoretical investigation. In turn, theory has led to new insights and predictions. This interaction of experiment and theory has been for many of us a thrilling experience. Some illustrative examples will be given, with a focus on recent studies of solvation dynamics and of related areas in electron transfer processes.
